Anyone who knows me knows I’m super into music. I’m constantly exploring Spotify, Wonder, Last.fm, and other tools/applications to find new tunes to obsess over. I thoroughly enjoy curating playlists for moods, events, and themes and sharing them with friends. That’s why I was so impressed with Song Exploder, a podcast that brings in musicians across genres to share how a certain song came together. It’s truly inspiring to hear the inspiration and creation process behind each piece; they dissect each part of the song in a way you otherwise wouldn’t think to listen for. You come away with a greater appreciation for that song and, if you’re me, an envy for such talent.
Some of my favorite episodes:
• Ramin Djawadi – Game of Thrones
• Loren Bouchard – Bob’s Burgers Theme
• Clipping – Work Work
• Patrick Carney feat. Ralph Carney – BoJack Horseman Theme
• Spoon – Inside Out
• The National – Sea of Love
• Sylvan Esso – Coffee
• Courtney Barnett – Depreston
Take a listen!
